iSHALA 4 USER MANUAL

'How To' Guide

1) HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR PITCH

iShala now includes a Premium option that helps you improve your pitch accuracy! Here is how.

2) HOW TO CREATE A NEW SESSION?

  • In the Global Tab click SESSION panel.
  • Click on the New icon (below the Session Name column).
  • There appears a New Session pop up. Give the desired name to your session and press OK to save. You see your session loaded in the Session Name column.
  • Now do the desired settings for various controls like Tuned on, Raga, Tempo etc.
  • Go through all the Tabs (Tabla, Harmonium, etc....) one by one and make desired changes there.
  • Now go to Raga Tab and fine tune the notes if needed.
  • If you like, go to FX Tab and engage EQ, Reverb and Envelop as per your session requirements. Fine tune these effects to your taste. Just note that adding FX might consume more CPU and therefore create some glitches in the sound on some mobile models.
  • Your changes are always saved automatically, so you don't need to do anything else.

3) HOW TO CREATE/ADD A NEW RAGA?

  • In the Global Tab click EDIT button next to Raga Menu and you will reach Ragas Pane.
  • Click on the New icon (beside the Raga Name column).
  • There appears a New Raga pop up. Give the desired name to your Raga and press OK to save. You see your Raga loaded in the Raga Name field.
  • Now select the Aroha & Avaroha notes for the Raga and possibly fine-tune any note that doesn't follow tempered scale using Shruti (micro-tones) sliders. Press RESET in case you wish to undo Shruti adjustments for all the notes.
  • Once done, press the Save icon (next to Reset icon) to save all the changes.
